COVID-19 Finally Takes Its Toll
I Guess It Was Inevitable
I had made it this far without being infected. I had taken all the shots and boosters. But nothing could stop the eventual infection that occurred after visiting friends at a large gathering.
I'm not angry at all. I've learned that there's very little you can do to protect yourself beyond what is already recommended. However, I regret infecting a number of friends a few days later. Furthermore, I attended a concert later in the day where my symptoms began to show. I coughed all through the performance. So, there's no telling how many people I eventually infected. But, to think I was the only one in attendance that night who was contagious is just silly. The disease is running rampant right now.
The good thing is, the symptoms are not awful. Cough, eye-muscle pain, sinus and lung congestion along with some body aches. Temperature stayed under 101. I never even got to take Tylenol or gargle. Both the headache and sore throat went away swiftly.
I have lots of doubts about these vaccines. People I know, who have not had vaccines, have not been affected even though they have been exposed, big time.
It makes one wonder.
But I will never qualify as an "anti-vaxer." I'll always opt in to vaccinations for diseases like pneumonia and shingles. And that includes the flu. What if, as a child, my parents decided I should not take the polio vaccination? Now, that's just plain scary.
So, I hope everyone is able to cope the best they can. This is something you can't outrun.
I just glad to be well again.
